New charity specialist joins ktsowensthomas

Cardiff and Aberdare-based accountancy firm, ktsowensthomas, has recruited a specialist accountant to its not-for-profit and charity’s team as it continues to grow in strength and experience.

Amanda Kruger, from Ammanford, joins as client manager having spent the last four years developing her knowledge and understanding of this sector working with various sized charities and voluntary organisations throughout Wales.

A fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Amanda has responsibility for developing the team as they strive to become Wales’ leading team of advisers for charities and not-for-profit organisations.

A trustee of Llanelli Citizens Advice Bureau, Amanda knows first-hand the issues affecting these organisations and is well placed to aid the team in delivering seamless compliance, technical advice and support to its clients.

On joining the team, Amanda says: “Charities are feeling the effects of the credit crunch just as much as businesses in Wales and with donations dropping off and the uncertainty of future funding, we are getting more and more enquiries from charities wanting financial help and advice. I’m looking forward to using my experience to help these charities in need and grow the specialist team at ktsowensthomas.”

Working alongside a team of specialists, Amanda will work on clients including Keep Wales Tidy, Groundwork Bridgend & Neath Port Talbot, Disability Arts Cymru, Mudiad Ysgolion Meithrin and Cancer Care Cymru.

David Owens, managing director of the firm, adds: “It has always been the case that charities and not-for-profit organisations need special expertise, and the recent Charities Act has added to this requirement for specialist knowledge. With this in mind, Amanda’s appointment is testament to our commitment to this sector and I’m confident that her experience and background will be of tremendous benefit to the clients we are working with.”
