Extensive business, commercial and corporate governance expertise
I am a finance and business professional with thirty three years’ experience gained across both the private and public sectors. I trained with one of the ‘Big Four’ accounting firms before becoming a founding partner of KTS Owens Thomas.
I have held an executive director role for the last twenty six years with responsibility for growing , developing and co-leading a professional services business.
My client portfolio is extremely diverse and includes privately owned enterprises as well as public sector and not for profit organisations. For my private sector clients I act not only as their accountant, but also as their trusted business and commercial advisor. For my public sector clients I provide both external audit and internal audit compliance services as well as risk management consultancy.
I possess extensive corporate governance and board experience having held a number of independent non-executive director and advisory roles for organisations including Milford Haven Port Authority, The European Medicines Agency and the Nursing and Midwifery Council. I also have considerable experience of chairing Audit and Risk committees.
I’m a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, an Affiliate of the Institute of Internal Auditors in UK and Ireland and a Registered Auditor. I have also successfully attended an executive management development programme at Harvard Business School in the United States.
Three dimensional fact
I’m a committed wine nut and can often be found in auction rooms throughout the UK topping up the wine cellar and portfolio. Who says business and pleasure don’t mix!
